All early years training workshops are run by Brighter Horizons. The Courses listed below take place in our training centre in Billingshurst both during the day and in the evenings/at weekends to ensure they are open to all. Training costs £45 for a full day and £35 for a half day
(please speak to us about fees for 2 or 3 day courses, such as Paediatric First Aid).
We operate a discount scheme for:
- groups of more than 2 learners
- delivery of training off-site to groups of more than 10 learners
- those who are self-funded.

The Essential (often ‘Mandatory’) Collection
| Paediatric First Aid:
14th September 2019 (Full day in class plus 6 hours additional work at home)
This course is suitable for all practitioners who want to gain practical skills and the knowledge needed to deal with a range of emergency first aid situations which can arise when looking after children.
7th September 2019 (Half Day: Morning Session)
Our Safeguarding course is designed for any practitioner who works in an environment where children are present. We use case studies and scenarios based around legislation and guidance to emphasise individual responsibilities and reduce organisational risk.
| Safeguarding with British Values and Prevent:
7th September 2019 (Full Day)
As well as our Safeguarding course in the morning, practitioners who register for the full day programme will attend an afternoon session that concentrates on British Values and Prevent. Early Years Providers are now expected to demonstrate understanding of four values introduced by the government in 2015 to keep children safe and promote their welfare: specifically in relation to terrorism and extremism.
